The red mist

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Express Yourself.”

A selfie experiment I did a little while back. I wanted to convey the emotion that comes from watching your favourite sports team. For those extra passionate fans, this can sometimes evolve into a misty red haze of anger, frustration, passion, adrenalin….

  1. Yesterday evening we went to the Tanzania/Rwanda match. I know nothing about football but got right into it, and the atmosphere was charged. Lots of faces showing passion like your selfie (especially when Tanzania scored) – most of them black. Didn’t take a camera, just enjoyed being part of it.

    1. Was that for the ANC?? There’s nothing like being part of a crowd that’s just swept away in the moment. We’re going to the Australia v UAE semi-final for the Asian Cup in my hometown next Tuesday night… the stadium is close to sold out and the atmosphere is going to be amazing!

    1. Thank you Jim! My local team the Newcastle United Jets, the one that wears the blue & red shirt I was sporting in that photo, just lost 7-0 yesterday – their worst defeat in their 10 year history. It’s fair to say my anger & frustration levels are well beyond this image!!! 😀
