In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Symmetry.”
This was taken at my beloved Newcastle Beach. I love the contrast between the old, rusted chain poles, (not that you can see the rust here), and the symmetry between their spacing along the wall. It was also nice to catch a fellow photographer in the background.
Have a browse of my previous weekly photo submissions:
* The size of the thing!
* Into the fog
* The red mist
* Serenity
* My own shadow
Just wanted to let you know I can’t see your photo… should it be showing above on this page?

There we go… I did that last week too. Tried to update the thing too quickly.

Ahh, I see, it’s a mad rush to answer the prompt with something that fits isn’t it?! Lovely photos, I love the little figure of the other photographer in the first one.

Reflection of the poles on the water is my kind of symmetry. This black n white is perfect.

Thank you 🙂 I initially added a second photo to this post of the same set of chains, but in colour and from a wider angle. I love the other photo but felt that having two detracted from this. I’m a sucker for B & W so this photo won out!

G’day from Brisbane. I really love this shot, and the reflections add to the success of it.

And from another angle, you created symetry with the other photographer! I wouldn’t have thought of that if you hadn’t pointed him out. Although he kind of looks like a monster… do you? 🙂

Thank you! And yeah he does look a little like a monster/zombie now that you’ve mentioned it!! 🙂

I like the idea of chains, then a space then the chains again. Also how you captured the reflection mirroring the effect. Cool!
