In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Broken.”
Incredibly, when I saw the theme of broken, my thoughts shot straight to a photo I took at Alcatraz during our recent trip to the United States. Lo and behold, I read the description further only to find that this week’s challenge was also based on a photo that the author took at Alcatraz! I had posted this photo as part of my Alcatraz collection a month or two ago… but here it is again…
Although the prison is no longer used, I guess the glass can represent the shattered hopes of most of the inmates who ended up there. Once a lot of people enter prison, that’s the end of the line, even if they get out when they’re a lot older.
Really nice shot, Mike, and representative of much that goes on in prison.
